Antitrust and Trade RegulationOhrenstein & Brown, LLP's antitrust and trade regulation practice reflects
our extensive experience in a variety of industries including health care, insurance,
consumer products and telecommunications. Our success in serving our clients is
attributable to this experience and our attorneys' dedication to understanding
and achieving our clients' business objectives.
Recent work by the firm includes the defense of two nationwide class actions in
which the plaintiffs sought billions of dollars in damages for alleged antitrust
injuries and conspiracy from several managed behavioral care companies. Working
closely with our clients to develop their defenses, we were successful in obtaining
a dismissal of one case and a highly favorable settlement of the other.
In addition, we recently concluded a favorable settlement of a national consumer
fraud class action, in which plaintiffs alleged violations of various states'
consumer protection laws in connection with a claim of deceptive advertising.
In the telecommunications area, we concluded a settlement of a case in which it
successfully urged the application of the "filed rate doctrine" under
the Federal Communications Act.
