Appellate Practice

Appellate advocacy is an art and the appellate attorneys of Ohrenstein & Brown, LLP, are involved in a number of appellate matters each year, and are well-versed in crafting cogent arguments that are most likely to meet a favorable reception. In addition to participating in appeals of matters initially handled by the firm, our appellate attorneys also undertake appeals where another law firm appeared at the trial level.

Recognizing that appellate practice is integrally related to trial and motion practice, our appellate practitioners have extensive trial and motion experience; they understand the practical aspects of a trial and know how to present arguments that are most likely to convince an appellate court that a decision below should be overturned or a new trial should be granted. Our appellate attorneys have confronted unfavorable results and have been successful in obtaining reversals or significant reductions in damages.
